Welcome to The Probate Helper

Hello I’m Lisa.

For the past 25 years I have been advising and supporting my clients with the administration of estates and probate applications.

I am a Chartered Legal Executive and a member of the Association of Lifetime Lawyers.

I have many years experience of dealing with all aspects of losing a loved one, such as explaining what can feel like complex legal language in the Will, the rules and regulations which apply to you as an executor and the tax rules which apply to your loved one’s affairs.

Over the years, I have seen the challenges that come with navigating the grief of losing a loved one whilst managing the overwhelming burden of the estate administration.

I am here to help you and support you through this difficult and bewildering time.

All discussions are completely confidential.

Here’s a little bit more about me…

Probate expertise requires more than just legal knowledge.

As a trained bereavement volunteer and a qualified Mental Health First Aider I fully understand all the implications of loss, grief and confusion.

My advice and support to you will be provided with compassion, patience and sensitivity.

You may be in the initial stages of grief, confusion and shock and wondering what your first steps are, or you may be further along your journey. Wherever you are I am here to help, support and guide you through the next steps and help ease your burden.

I am here for a free initial consultation of up to 30 minutes.

For any additional help and support there will be a charge of £195 for a follow up consultation. This consultation is not timed and I will take as long as you need to fully understand the process, and provide you with any additional support you require. During our call I will tailor my advice and support to your specific circumstances and guide you towards your next steps.

Below is some additional information which we will discuss in more detail during our call:

If you are finding it difficult to know where to turn to next then I am here to help

1. Where to start

The shock of losing a loved one can be traumatic. The immediate steps of registering the death and arranging the funeral will require immediate action. If you are unsure of where to start then please do contact me.

2. You have a Will

This is good news.

Please do contact me if you would like a clear explanation of the Will and what further steps you may need to take.

3. There is no Will

This is common situation, so please do not panic. In this situation there is a procedure which sets out the distribution of the estate and who is responsible for your loved one’s estate. I will be able to guide you through this.

4. Do I need the Grant of Probate?

In some circumstances (the rules can be quite complex) you may require the Grant of Probate. There is a process to follow which may involve deadlines and impose legal responsibilities. If you would like an explanation of these and how they relate to your specific circumstances then please do contact me.

5. I have the Grant of Probate. What’s next?

Obtaining the Grant of Probate is the halfway stage in the estate administration process. This will enable you to deal with the assets and liabilities and distribute the estate. I will be able to guide through the next steps if you are unsure on what to do next.
